Jerry Dean Pickard

Jerry Dean was born on September 19, 1948 to the late Ella Mae Alford and Ben McFarlin.  Jerry received her education from Collins Elementary and Drake High School.  From a young age, she was a family woman working and rearing children.  

At a young age, Jerry joined the Springfield Missionary Baptist Church.  She was on the Usher Board for many years.  Later in life, Jerry joined Saint Mary A.M.E. Church where she attended faithfully before her health declined.  In her free time, she loved playing cards, going to casinos, doing crossword puzzles and gossiping. Known for her compassion and gentle spirit, Jerry Dean touched countless lives through her kindness, generosity and selfless nature.  She found joy in spending time with family, traveling and talking on the phone to anyone who would listen.

She leaves behind a legacy of inspiration and cherished memories; children: Tanya Daniel-Ivey; Robert Daniel, Ronnie Daniel; Jody Ellerbee, Lashanda Alford and Timothy Alford (Shakeria); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends that will miss her dearly.
